This course has been developed under a collaborative agreement in conjunction with Wiltshire College, Lackham, and is delivered mainly at the Lackham campus, located just outside Lacock, Wiltshire, a 40-minute drive from the RAC campus. Quality assurance and standards are monitored by the RAC which, as the validating authority, grants the award at the end of the course.
Course Structure
The course is based on a modular structure and requires completion of six taught modules, including one that incorporates an overseas study tour, together with a personal investigative project, culminating in a dissertation.
Opportunities for personal research topics are extensive, and the wide range of animal species available at the Lackham campus, ranging from farm animals to companion animals and exotic species, provides a unique and valuable resource for study opportunities.

What you need to join the Course
The normal entry requirement will be a Foundation Degree at pass level or HND with a merit profile in the broad study area of Animal Science and Management. Alternative HNDs or Foundation Degrees will be considered on an individual basis. Evidence of work experience is also required. Details of an appropriate Foundation Degree qualification can be found on the Wiltshire College website. Depending on previous studies, you may also be required, following individual interview, to complete additional ‘bridging’ studies, prior to enrolling on the honours course in order to cover identified gaps in previous learning.
Career Opportunities
Upon completion of this course, you will be well placed to enter employment with animal parks, zoos, animal welfare and rescue centres, and conservation organisations. Additionally, you would be qualified to work within academia at universities and colleges, or continue with your own education through MSc and PhD courses.
